Kenneth A. “Kenny” Bolte, 81, Ferdinand

Kenneth A. “Kenny” Bolte, 81, of Ferdinand, died Wednesday, February 6, at North River Health Campus in Evansville. He was born St. Henry December 14, 1937, to Othmar and Alma (Schwinghammer) Bolte. He married Georgiana “Georgie” Gilles May 30, 1961, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evansville.

Kenny was owner and operator of Bolte’s Service Center in Ferdinand for 45 years. He was a school bus driver for 20 years and a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, swimming, and spending time with friends and family on the Ohio River. He was an avid Indiana Hoosier fan and enjoyed watching college and high school sports.

He is survived by his wife, Georgiana Bolte, Evansville; two sons, Kevin Bolte and wife Chatty, and Eric Bolte and wife Leslie, all of Ferdinand; three daughters, Karla Buening and husband John, Gina Schue and husband Scott, and Jill Boles and husband Shawn, all of Evansville; one brother, James Bolte and wife Nancy, Newburgh; one sister, Vera Eckert, Celestine; and 15 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Felicia, Sophia, Tabitha, Alex, Kraig, Chas, Conner, Evan, Samantha, Lexis, Kendall, Addison, Andrew and Anderson.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7-10 a.m. Wednesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences can  be shared at Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at St.Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside rites.
