Numbers keep growing to fill new Mayor Elect Dean Vonderheide’s position on Jasper’s Common Council:

Thirteen people have filed so far to fill Dean Vonderheide’s seat on the Jasper Common Council, according to County Republican Party Chairman and Indiana State Senator Mark Messmer.

Those who have filed for the now vacant council seat are: Steve Block, Adrian Engelberth, Chad Lueken, Tim Bell, Steve Messmer, Paul Lorey, Bernie Fallon, Merrill Osterman, Phil Mundy, Patty Brosmer, Levi Hulsman, and latest editions of Dr. Richard Moss and Justin Kluemper.

NOW BACK TO 12 AS TIM BELL HAS JUST WITHDRAWN FROM CONSIDERATION FOR THE OFFICE.

NOW DOWN TO 11 AS JUSTIN KLUEMPER HAS ALSO WITHDRAWN HIS CONSIDERATION.

The new Republican caucus will be held in Jasper City Hall’s Pfaffenweiler Room at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 to fill the at-large council seat previously held by Mayor Elect Dean Vonderheide.  Most of the same committee people who voted in the caucus to appoint Vonderheide will be voting on his replacement.

Those interested in finishing the last year of Vonderheide’s council term must complete a candidacy form, CEB-5, and send it to Messmer by 9 a.m. Wednesday; Messmer’s home address is 795 E. Scherle Lane, Jasper. Forms are available at the Dubois County Clerk’s office in the Courthouse or at Messmer’s office at 402 Third Ave., Jasper.

Candidates must live in the city of Jasper and be a registered Republican.
