Morris “Dusty” Hubster, Jr., Holland

Morris “Dusty” Hubster, Jr., 71, of Holland, died Monday, January 7, at his home. He was born in Holland July 21, 1947, to Morris and Lorraine (Kaiser) Hubster. He married Susan R. “Sue” Mattingly June 3, 1972, at Augustana Church in Holland. She died February 25, 2013.

Dusty was a plumber and coal miner. He retired from Mehringer’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning where he worked for 25 years. He was a member of the Augustana United Church of Christ, Holland Volunteer Fire Department, Southern Indiana Leathernecks Detachment No. 931 Marine Corps League, and a life member of Huntingburg VFW Post 2366 and Holland American Legion Post 343. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star.

He is survived by two sons, Morgan (Tiffany) Hubster and wife Tiffany and Landon Hubster, all of Holland; one daughter, Kenley Lintzenich and husband Steven, Ft. Branch; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Augustana United Church of Christ. A Marine Corps League vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery. The Holland American Legion and Huntingburg VFW memorial details will conduct combined military graveside rites.
