Dubois County Sports – Southridge Wins Holiday Hoops Classic

Dubois County (NNDC):  The Championship game of the Holiday Hoops Classic was held on Friday night as the Southridge Raiders and Forest Park Rangers went head to head for the title.   Southridge picked up it’s 3rd win of the tournament to win the Championship Game over the Rangers 53-37.   Southridge advanced to the title game with wins over Christian Academy and Tecumseh.   Forest Park made their way into the title tilt with wins over Salem and Lanesville.   Southridge improves their record to 6-4 while Forest Park falls to 5-5.    Southridge and Forest Park will return to action on January 4th as Southridge hosts Tecumseh and Forest Park will be at home to face Barr Reeve.   The Jasper Wildcats were also victorious on Friday night as they picked up a 71-52 win over Evansville Central.   The Wildcats are now 5-2 and will host Evansville North (1-8) on Saturday night.   The NE Dubois Jeeps had the night off and will return to action on January 4th as they’ll be at home to face South Knox.

In High School Girls Basketball, the Forest Park Rangers played in the Eastern Green tournament and came up short in their 2 games.   The Rangers lost to Brownstown Central 44-35 and Cloverdale 54-39.   Forest Park falls to 6-9 on the season.  The Lady Rangers will return to action on January 3rd as they visit Jasper (9-4)

Wrestling – Jasper Wildcats 50th Anniversary Reunion

The Jasper High School Wrestling team is having their 50th Anniversary Reunion tonight (Saturday 12.29.18) at the Schnitz Club House on Newton Street in Jasper.  Any past wrestler from the Jasper High School Wrestling teams are welcome to stop by and share stories with some of the first team members.   The Reunion will begin at 4pm.   Jaspers first wrestling team from 50 years ago had 28 members and finished with a team record of 6 wins and 1 loss.
