Marilyn M. Kress, 79, Jasper

Marilyn M. Kress, 79, of Jasper, died Saturday, December 22, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Jasper October 1, 1939, to William and Elfrieda (Borho) Kreilein. She married David F. Kress June 8, 1963, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Marilyn retired from German American Bank in Jasper after 35 years of service where she
was hired as the first female bank teller. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and its CRHP group, the Jasper Circle of Daughters of Isabella, a 56 year member of the Psi Iota Xi Zeta Mu Chapter Sorority, and the Jasper American Legion Post 147 Auxiliary. She enjoyed sending greeting cards and notes and spending time with friends and, especially, her family.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David F. Kress; one daughter, Maria Duncan, Huntingburg; two sons, Kurt Kress (John O’Grady), Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and Jason Kress (Giah), Hendersonville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Kody, Brennan, and Ethan Kress, Noah Kress-Jones, Canyon Duncan, and Drake Lee; one great-grand daughter, Kyley Kress, one sister, Diana Clark and husband Larry, Hot Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Donald Kreilein, Jasper; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday, January 3, at Holy Family Church. The Holy Family Parish will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. January 3 and the Psi Iota Xi Zeta Mu Sorority will perform a memorial service at 6 p.m. January 3. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity.
