Edward LeRoy Berry, 81, Huntingburg

Edward LeRoy Berry, age 81, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday, December 12, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born in Kentucky January 9, 1937, to G.E. “Bud” and Ruby (Rudd) Berry. He married Linda Reed in June of 1965.

LeRoy attended elementary and high schools in Kentucky and received college degrees from Murray State University. He taught Industrial arts at schools in Maryland, Kentucky, and Indiana and coached sports for much of his career. He taught at Huntingburg and Southridge high schools before retiring in 1999 due to ill health. He was a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Berry; two daughters, Julia Berry, of Lafayette, and Lisa Berry-Tayman (daughter-in-law, Trilby Berry-Tayman), Avon; two grandchildren, Paul and Claire Berry-Tayman, Avon; one sister, Rita Dempsey, Sturgis, Kentucky; and four brothers, Ralph and Ronnie Berry, both of Sturgis, Kentucky, Pete Berry, Morganfield, Kentucky, and Doug Berry, Clarksville, Tennessee.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Online condolences can be shared at www.nassandson.com. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Lee Campbell will officiate at the service.
