Dubois County Sports

Dubois County (NNDC):  The Jasper Lady Wildcats Basketball team picked up a huge conference win on Tuesday night with a 41-36 win over previously undefeated and Class 3A #10 Washington Hatchets.  With the win, the Wildcats are 3-0 in Big Eight Conference play.   Brooke Nottingham and Kortney Ruhe paced Jasper with 12 points each.  Jasper has won 5 straight and improved their record to 6-4 on the season.   The Wildcats will host NE Dubois on Thursday night with a 7:30pm Varsity tip.   Forest Park hosted Evansville Central on Tuesday night as the Rangers were looking to pick up their 4th win of the season.   The 1-8 Bears came into the contest with other plans but the home team picked up the victory as the Rangers cruised to a 61-48 win.   Macie Zinc led all scorers with a career high 29 points while Kenlee Gehlhausen knocked down 12.   Forest Park is now 4-6 on the season and will travel to Paoli (7-4) on Thursday night.   In other Girls Basketball involving Dubois County schools, the NE Dubois Jeeps ran into a buzz saw at Crawford County as the Jeeps fall to the Wolfpack 57-25.   Brinley Royer led NE Dubois with 9 points.   The Jeeps (1-12) will travel to Jasper and face the Wildcats (6-4) on Thursday night.

On the Wrestling mat, the Jasper Wildcats hosted Pike Central and Vincennes Lincoln in a dual meet.   Jasper won over Vincennes Lincoln 58-15 and Pike Central 48-21.   The Southridge Raiders fell on the road in their match against the Castle Knights.   The Raiders and the Knights each had 6 wins but Southridge had to forfeit two weight classes which led to Castle picking up the victory.

In High School Swimming, NE Dubois hosted Tell City.   The Marksman won both on the Boys and Girls side.   Tell City Boys picked up a 96-66 win while the Lady Marksman picked up the win over the Jeeps 133-25.
