Kevin S. Klein, 61, Huntingburg

Kevin S. Klein, 61, of Huntingburg, died Saturday, December 8, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh. He was born in Jasper August 31, 1957, to Robert and Stella (Schneider) Klein.

Kevin attended Jasper High School with the class of 1976. He enjoyed sports, especially Indiana University basketball, fishing, and good times with family. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1982 through 1986, a crewmember on the USS Pensacola. He was part of the Amphibious Force, 6th Fleet with the U.S. Forces in Lebanon. Before moving to Huntingburg he resided in Evansville and retired as a surveyor from Lochmueller Group of Evansville after 25 years of service.

He is survived by one son, Chad Klein, Jasper; two grandchildren, Jalyn and Caden Klein, both of Huntingburg; three brothers, Ken Klein and companion Roseann Westlake, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Kim Klein and wife Donna, St. Croix, and Keith Klein (Scott), Rocky Mount, North Carolina; two sisters, Kathy Seger and Kyle Eckert and husband Mike, all of Jasper; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded death by one brother-in-law, Ronald Seger, and one sister-in-law, Diane (Sermersheim) Klein.

Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial following in Enlow Cemetery in Jasper. American Legion Post 147 will conduct military graveside rites.
