Tony Ahrens Retires as Jasper Football Coach

Jasper (NNDC):  Tony Ahrens announced on Sunday that he’ll be retiring as the Head Coach of the Jasper Wildcats Football program.   Ahrens spent 34 years with the Jasper program and the last 16 as Head Coach.    During Ahrens tenure, the Wildcats won 3 Sectional titles, a Regional, and a total of 9 Big Eight Championships (7 outright and 2 shared) on his way to a 144-44 record at Jasper.   Prior to taking over the Jasper program in 2003, Ahrens spent 18 years as an assistant coach under Jerry Brewer.

The Wildcats finished up the 2018 season with a record of 6-5 following a 17-6 loss in the Sectional Semi-Finals to the Boonville Pioneers.   The search will now begin for Tony Ahrens replacement.
