Mary Ann Vogler, 86, Jasper

Mary Ann Vogler, 86, of Jasper, died Thursday, November 29, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Jasper September 6, 1932, to Theodore and Alvina (Rees) Beck. She married Andrew J. Vogler April 30, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died December 2, 2014.

Mary Ann worked at Kimball Electronics for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and its St. Anne’s Society, and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Diane Friedman and husband Glenn, Santa Claus, Victoria Merkel and husband Michael, Jasper, and Bonita Blesssinger and husband Frederick, Kokomo; two sons, Stephen Vogler and wife Kathleen, Jasper, and Rick Vogler and wife Cindy, Haysville; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Merkel, one sister, Victoria Beck, who died in infancy, and three brothers, Herb, Maurice, and Arnie Beck.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Anne’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church, Heart to Heart Hospice, or to a favorite charity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday¬† at St. Joseph Church with entombment following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
