Dubois County Sports – Tuesday Scores

Dubois County (NNDC):    The area sports schedules are heating up with all Dubois County schools in action tonight.  In Boys Basketball, Jasper traveled to Gibson Southern, while on the girls side, county rivals Southridge and Forest Park went head to head at Memorial Gym.   Jasper hosted North Harrison and NE Dubois was on the road to Washington Catholic.

The Jasper Wildcats Boys Basketball team looked to move their early season record to 2-0 as they traveled to Gibson Southern on their opening night of the 2018-19 season.    It was all Jasper as the final score saw the Wildcats with a 29 point advantage and a 67-38 victory.  Jackson Kabrick led the Wildcats with 28 points and Jared Englert had 11.   Jasper will be in action next Friday December 7th as they travel to the Ford Center and will face Evansville Memorial.

The Forest Park Lady Rangers under 3rd year Head Coach Tony Hasenour entered Memorial Gym looking to improve on their 2-4 record while the Southridge Raiders under 3rd year Head Coach Steve Rust was looking for their first win on the season.   It was all Southridge early in the 1st quarter as the Raiders jumped out to an eight to nothing lead behind two three pointers from Freshman standout Myah Montgomery.   The Rangers fought their way back and led Southridge 20-16 at halftime.   Forest Park held a 6 point lead after 3 and held on to win by the score of 42-32.   Myah Montgomery led all scorers with 16 points,  Mady Neukam and Monica Steckler chipped in 6 apiece for Southridge.    Kenlee Gehlhausen led the Rangers with 12 points, Kennedy Sermersheim and Macie Zink both had 11 points for Forest Park.    The Rangers are now 3-4 on the season and will play at Tecumseh on Tuesday December 4th while the Lady Raiders return to action this Thursday night and will host Tell City.

The Jasper Lady Wildcats entered Tuesdays game looking for their 2nd win of the season as North Harrison came to town boasting a 5-1 record, including a 5 game winning streak.   The game was close throughout with the Wildcats leading by 4 after one, but trailed by 1 at halftime to the Cougars.   With the game tied at the end of regulation, the Wildcats and Cougars battled in overtime with North Harrison adding to their win total with a 64-62 overtime victory over Jasper.  Claire Knies led Jasper with 15 points while Meredith Hilgefort knock down 14.   The Wildcats fall to 1-4 on the season and will travel to Evansville Central this Saturday for an afternoon tip at 2:30pm.

The NE Dubois Lady Jeeps were looking for their first win of the season on Tuesday as they traveled to Washington Catholic who was also looking for their first win.   Andy Chinns Lady Jeeps earned their first win of the season with a convincing 64-41 victory over the Lady Cardinals.   Madison Cave led the Jeeps with 26 points.   NE Dubois will host Springs Valley this Thursday night.
