Dorothy A. Bachman, 80, Jasper

Dorothy A. Bachman, 80, of Jasper, died Sunday, November 17, at her home. She was born in Schnellville October 7, 1938, to Leo and Veronica (Seger) Lueken. She married Eugene Bachman May 30, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville.

Dorothy was a 1956 graduate of Birdseye High School. She was a homemaker, a child care provider for many years, and worked at Leed’s Selling Tools. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and the Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mother. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Bachman; two daughters, Ann Reutman and husband Jeff and Marla Bachman, all of Jasper; two sons, Allen Bachman and wife Rita, Bretzville, and Mike Bachman and wife Kathy, Jasper; three grandchildren, Alex and Kelli Reutman and Maria Bachman; three sisters, Therese Ernst and Marie Dall and husband Robert, all of Ferdinand; and Janice Hurst, Huntingburg; and one brother, Ray Lueken and wife Aileen, Celestine.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosemary Lueken who died in infancy, Eileen Schuler, and Rosalee Scherle, and two brothers, Louis and Ralph Lueken.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church. The Ladies Sodality will pray a rosary at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Holy Family Parish Quilting Fund. Online condolences can be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with entombment to following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
