Snow and Ice a Real Possibility for Southern Indiana

Southern Indiana (NNDC):

Snow and Ice are likely on the horizon for Wednesday evening and into Thursday.

A special Weather Statement was issued November 13 at 3:40PM by the National Weather Service out of Louisville KY

Local Areas Affected: Dubois; Orange; Crawford; Washington; Perry; Washington; Green; counties.

 Spencer and Pike Counties are already under a a winter weather advisory.

The threat for a wintry mix is increasing across much of southern Indiana Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Some accumulations of snow, ice, and freezing rain will be possible, especially across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. These snow and ice accumulations could make travel hazardous at times Thursday morning.  Caution is urged when traveling.

Precipitation will begin with rain first in southern Kentucky and southern Indiana by or shortly after sunrise.

If current forecasts and model trends remain consistent, a winter weather advisory may be issued for parts of southern Indiana and central Kentucky. Be sure to keep up to date with the latest forecasts.
