Southridge Raiders advance to Class 2A Football Semi-State

Huntingburg (NNDC) – On a game broadcasted live here on NNDC, the Southridge Raiders held on for a 42-35 win over previously undefeated Paoli on a cold night at Raider Field.   Southridge came into the contest with a 9-3 record and ranked #10 in Class 2A while the Paoli Rams entered the game at 12-0 and ranked #7 in 2A.    With the win, the Raiders defended their Class 2A Regional title.   Up next for the Raiders is Class 2A #1 ranked Western Boone who defeated Indianapolis Scecina 19-7.   Western Boone is 13-0 on the season.   The other matchup in 2A will feature Eastbrook and Bremen.   Eastbrook reached the Semi-State with a 52-21 win over Lapel.  Bremen routed Whiting 42-13 to advance in 2A.   The winners of both Semi-State games next weekend will advance to Lucas Oil Stadium for the State Championship game a week later.    With a win in the Semi-State against Western Boone, the Raiders will head to Lucas Oil to defend their Class 2A title from a year ago.
