James Wesley “Jim” Leibering, 62, Huntingburg

James Wesley “Jim” Leibering, 62, of Huntingburg, died Saturday, October 27, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born in Huntingburg May 15, 1956, to Wesley and Madonna (Hubert) Leibering. He married Debora Carpenter February 14, 1986, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.

Jim worked as a maintenance supervisor for Kimball National Office Furniture. He was a member of the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years where he was a firefighter E.M.T., a member of the Y.M.I. Club, and the Dubois County Leukemia Association.

He is survived by his wife, Debora “Deb” Leibering; two sons, Michael J. Leibering and wife Renee, Huntingburg, and Ryan Leibering, Bloomington; one daughter, Breanne L. Wyman and husband John, Purcellville, Virginia; his parents, Wesley and Madonna Leibering, Huntingburg; one sister, Sharon Leibering, Huntingburg; one brother, Tom Leibering, Kendall Park, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriella Leibering, Tobias Wyman, and Sawyer and Emerson Wyman; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A Volunteer Firefighters vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Indiana Donor Network Foundation or the Dubois County Leukemia Association. Online condolences can be shared at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery with a firemens graveside tribute. Mayor Denny Spinner will officiate at the service.
