Man Arrested

Huntingburg (NNDC):

Authorities accused a Kentucky motorist of impaired driving and obstruction of justice Wednesday.

Huntingburg Police received a report of suspicious activity involving a dark-colored Dodge Charger that kept driving around the northeast portion of the city at 12:35 p.m. An officer observed the car, driven by Christopher R. Boyd, 30, out of  Kentucky, parked behind a church at Ninth and Washington streets.

The car left from the church and, at one point, according to witnesses, traveled at a high rate of speed into a manufacturing plant’s parking lot and yard before heading northbound.

The officer following the car reported erratic driving that included it going left of center several times before being stopped.

Boyd failed field sobriety testing and refused chemical testing, even after a warrant was sought and granted ordering blood and urine sampling at Memorial Hospital.

He was booked into the  Dubois County Security Center on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of obstruction of justice and a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated (test refusal).
