Donna Sue Kippenbrock, 61, Dale

Donna Sue Kippenbrock, 61, of Dale, died Friday, October 19 at her home. She was born in Huntingburg February 23, 1957, to Darwin and Eva Mae (Bender) Taylor. She married Larry J. Kippenbrock June 26, 2010, in Selvin.

Donna worked as a registered nurse at the Welborn Hospital Cardiac I.C.U. for 10 years, at St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Cardiac I.C.U., Cardiac Rehab and E.R. for 17 years, and at the Huntingburg Clinic part-time for 11 years. She assisted in establishing Memorial Hospital’s Urgent Care in Huntingburg and worked at Dr. Jeannie Gruber’s medical office where she retired. She was a member of Ebenezer General Baptist Church where she served as a youth leader; was an assistant Girl Scout leader of Daisy Troop 241, was elected to the Dale Town Council for three terms and served on the Emergency Management advisory board and Solid Waste board; was a first aid instructor with the American Red Cross, served with the American Heart Association as an instructor for advanced cardiac life support, was a Hazmat Team member, enjoyed crafts and scrapbooking, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Larry J. Kippenbrock; two daughters, Kristen Weaver and husband David, Huntingburg, and Emily Dunbar and husband Bryan, Gentryville; one son, Stanley Offil, Dale; two stepsons, Eric Kippenbrock, Mt. Vernon, and Dane Kippenbrock and wife Rae Ann, Santa Claus; one stepdaughter, Amy McGrew and husband Dusty, Angel Mounds; her parents, Darwin “Kay” and Eva Mae “Dolly” (Bender) Taylor, Huntingburg; three brothers, Rev. Dennis Taylor and wife Brenda, Lynnville, David Taylor and wife Julie, Otwell, and Rev. Daniel Taylor and wife Teresa, Royalton, Illinois; two sisters, Diana Headly and husband John, Port Charlotte, Florida, and Deborah Granderson and husband and husband Randy, Buffaloville; eight grandchildren, Austin, Ashlynn, Addison, and Emerson Weaver, Kaydence and Taylee Offil, and Cora and Kaysen Dunbar; three step grandchildren, Blake (Andrea York, Alexandria and Andrew Kippenbrock; one step great-grandson, Hunter York; eight nieces; six nephews; 10 great-nieces, and 14 great-nephews.

She ¬†was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brooklyn Offil, and Brooklyn’s mother, Brooke Balbach.

Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday and from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A Nursing Honor Guard vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dale. Rev. William Covey will officiate at the service.
