Edna M. Wigand, 87, Jasper

Edna M. Wigand, 87, of Jasper, died Sunday, October 14, at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Jasper December 27, 1930, to Roman and Elizabeth (Rupprecht) Jacob. She married Leon J. Wigand May 16, 1952, in Indianapolis. He died April 8, 1996.

Edna worked at Heichelbech’s Restaurant in Jasper for many years and for 3D and Wal-Mart in Jasper for 30 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and its St. Anne’s Sodality. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandy Braunecker and husband Jerry, Jasper, Sheila Wigand, Denver, Colorado, and Marla Britton and husband Will, El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren, four grandchildren, Shane Zoglman, Jason Braunecker, Jared Wigand, and Jennifer Zehr; three great-grandchildren, Jara and Jessa Braunecker and Hayden Wigand; one sister, Sharon Hopf, Jasper; and son-in-law, Rich Schwenk, Otwell.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Schwenk, one brother, Ralph Jacob, and one brother-in-law, Maurice Hopf.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with entombment following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
