Eloise R. Berg, 71, St. Anthony

Eloise R. Berg, 71, of St. Anthony, died Thursday, October 4, at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Dubois November 24, 1946, to Robert and Helen (Schneider) Hopster. She married Charlie L. Berg July 2, 1966, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Eloise retired from Kimball International in Jasper, where she worked as a telephone operator for over 38 years. She was also a volunteer for Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center and Tri-Cap in Jasper. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie L. Berg; two daughters, Shelly Wilgus and husband Ron and Kristy Bayer and husband Brian, all of Schnellville; four grandchildren, Kyle and Jared Wilgus and Trent and Taylor Bayer; two sisters, Charlotte Schlichting and husband Dave, Evansville, and Kathie Hohl, Dubois; and one brother, Denny Hopster and wife LaDonna, Ft. Branch.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Church. Divine Mercy Parish will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
