Alma Kordes Oser, 90, Huntingburg

Alma Kordes Oser, 90, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday, September 25, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in St. Anthony October 28, 1927, to Frank and Theresa “Lilly” (Brosmer) Kordes. She married Robert C. Oser September 4, 1954, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He died September 28, 2015.

Alma worked at General Electric in Tell City, Gossard’s, and Yogi’s Liquor Store. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, and was a founding member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2366 Auxiliary. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Gehlhausen and husband Randy, and Chris Beckman and husband Scott, all of Jasper; five sons, Robert C. Oser, Jr., and wife Kathie and Keith Oser and wife Denise, all of Holland, Bill Oser and wife Theresa, Brownsburg, and Jeff Oser and wife Brenda and Shane Oser, all of Huntingburg; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers, Willie, Raymond, Albert, Ernest, and Clarence “Mick” Kordes.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A V.F.W. Post No. 2366 Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home followed by a parish rosary prayer vigil. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, V.F.W. Post No. 2366 Auxiliary, or to St. Mary’s Church.  Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Ryan Hilderbrand.
