Jimmie L. “Jim” Lammers, 88, Huntingburg

Jimmie L. “Jim” Lammers, 88, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday, September 18, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg October 28, 1929, to Enos and Lela (Blemker) Lammers. He married Norma Hagen March 20, 1955, in Terre Haute.

Jim was a 1947 graduate of Huntingburg High School. He lived his entire life on a farm raising livestock and farming. Jim played the trombone and was an original member of the Santa Claus German Band, played with ther Willie Bartley Orchestra, and finished his musical career with the Crawford County Community Band. He was a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church, the Methodist Brass, and the Celebration Singers. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete in 4-H Fair and sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Lammers; two sons, Mike Lammers and wife Mary and Brian Lammers and wife Ann, all of Huntingburg; and five grandchildren, Lance, Brianna, and Justin Lammers, Beth Smith and husband Matt, and Jordan Lammers and wife Nicole.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Huntingburg United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the church. Online condolences can be shared at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Huntingburg UMC with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Lee Campbell will officiate.
