Dubois County Bombers Announce New Head Coach

Huntingburg (NNDC):  In a news release from Mike Uebelhor (Managing Partner) with the Dubois County Bombers, a new Head Coach has been announced for the 2019 season.   According to the release, Travis LaMar will be taking over the helm of the Bombers next summer.   LaMar joined the Bombers staff in 2017 as an assistant coach and assumed the role as a pitching coach this past season for Dubois County.   LaMar is a native of Evansville and a Harrison High School graduate.   He was drafted out of high school in the 44th round by the Baltimore Orioles but chose to attend Olney Central before finishing out his collegiate career at Wright State University.   LaMar played his collegiate summers with the Bombers and after graduating, he played for the Lake Erie Crushers and Evansville Otters.

Travis LaMar will take over the head coaching position as former skipper Andy Lasher has stepped down to accept a hitting coach position with Division One school Eastern Illinois University.   Lasher compiled a 122-63 record as head coach and under his guidance, the Bombers won League and Playoff Titles in 2015 & 2017.   In 2018, the Bombers won the inaugural Bluegrass World Series in Louisville.   Andy also coached at Olney Central while he was with the Bombers.
