Crash With Injury, JPD

Jasper (NNDC):

A vehicle was east bound on 15th Street and for an unknown reason went off the south side of the roadway just east of the Patoka River bridge and then struck a tree and continued east bound before landing on its side facing east.  It came to rest and was resting on a chain link fence, when it caught on fire. The driver crawled from the vehicle and a passenger had to be pulled out of the burning vehicle by Jasper Police Officers.  The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames before being put out by the Jasper Fire Department.

The driver sustained multiple injuries, with the most severe being a fractured femur in her right leg.  Another passenger also sustained multiple injuries, with the most severe being facial injuries.
