Huntingburg man charged with theft.

Barefoot Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Shoes and Socks

Jasper Police say a man walked into the Rural King Tuesday wearing no shoes.  He was spotted on surveillance footage and left the store with new boots and socks on his feet totaling just over $185 .  His photo was issued to the press asking for the public’s help, and within hours, the man was identified as 27-year-old Darrel Harris, Jr. of Huntingburg.

He was subsequently charged with misdemeanor theft.

 

High water from the weekend rain, still a threat.


Eight county roadway segments remained blocked by high water today after a weekend drenching heavy rain.

The Dubois County Highway Department says the affected roads are:

• County Road 800W north of County Road 300S.

• Division Road east of County Road 600W.

• Stewart Road off Division Road.

• County Road 620W at Dillon Creek.

• County Road 150S west of Old Huntingburg Road.

• Ell Creek Road north of County Road 400S.

• Old Huntingburg Road north of County Road 400S.

• County Road 400S west of Ell Creek Road.

Drivers are reminded to be cautious and never drive through standing or running water.
