Walmart Shoplifting Suspect Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

JPD was dispatched to Walmart Monday evening in reference to a theft.  Jennifer Jones from Illinois was located inside the store and it was determined that she had taken $77.55 worth of items from the store without paying for them. Upon search of the above subject’s purse, 4 grams of a white crystalline substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine was located.  Also located were three 5mg Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate pills, as well as two other  schedule II controlled substances.  A .22 caliber Phoenix Arms handgun was also located inside the above subjects’ purse.  Possessing the handgun enhanced the charge of Possession of Methamphetamine to a Level 5 Felony. Jones was arrested and transported to the Dubois County Security Center.

 

Man Accused of Entering Home, Threatening Another Man Inside

Huntingburg man was arrested Monday night after entering a home that wasn’t his.  Police were called out to an apartment near North Walnut Street a little before 9:00 p.m. on a report of threats being made.

When officers arrived, they arrested 31-year-old Thomas Burch after he entered the apartment without knocking and allegedly threatened a man inside the residence.

Burch is charged with felony residential entry and intimidation and also faces misdemeanor counts of resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
