Carolyn M. Roos, 81, Huntingburg

Carolyn M. Roos, 81, of Huntingburg, died Saturday, September 8, at The Waters of Huntingburg. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, December 22, 1936, to Wiley Owen and Rose Mary (Smith) Ellis. She married Thomas “Tom” Roos June 8, 1954, in Millington, Tennessee. He died in 1985.

Carolyn worked as a laboratory technician at Stork Memorial Hospital in Huntingburg and Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, and at the Huntingburg Clinic. She was a member of the Huntingburg Church of Christ and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, tending flowers in her backyard, and being outdoors.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Elshoff, Holland; two sisters, Mary Ann Brooks, Cordova, Tennessee, and Anita Rose “Geetie” Murphy, Memphis, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Amanda “Mandi” Kibby, Jasper, and Aaron and Jason Elshoff, Holland; and six great-grandchildren, Liam, Keatan, Anderson, Alivia, Alton, and Aida.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Baird.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Huntingburg Church of Christ with private interment to follow. Minister Ryan Scherer will officiate at the service. The Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be shared at
