Dubois County (NNDC):

Residents warned of a phone scam making the rounds.

Several people reported receiving calls from someone supposedly with Microsoft.  The attempted  victims say the caller claims Microsoft has been forced to close and asks for remote access to your computer and bank account information to give a refund.  This is completely untrue and if you get a call similar to this, you are urged to hang up and call local police.

 

Memorial Hospital is hosting the Heart land Half Marathon this Saturday, drivers are urged to use caution.

The Heartland Half Marathon Committee is urging the public to be careful when driving around Downtown Jasper Saturday.

Road closures will begin at 6:30 a.m. to approximately 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 1st and will include Third Avenue from Azura Grill & Café to Mill Street and Mill Street from Third to Ninth Street.

The actual race begins at 7:30 beginning close to the old Mill and finalize at The Plaza at the River Walk.

Registrations for the races are still being accepted. Registration can be made online at heartlandhalfmarathon.com or runsignup.com. The  fee for the half marathon is $70.
