Frances A. Kunz, 95, Jasper

Frances A. Kunz, 95, of Jasper, died Sunday (August 26) at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. She was born in Jasper June 28, 1923, to Frank and Margaret (Bachman) Schwartzmiller. She married Eugene Kunz November 15, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died January 24, 2006.

Frances was a 1941 graduate of Jasper High School. She and her husband owned Gerbo Bowling Lanes for 30 years. She worked as a secretary at the Jasper Desk Company for 17 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and its St. Anne’s Sodality and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling, casinos, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Petersime and husband Alan, Greenwood, and Susan Stassek and fiancé Butch Hill, Ballwin, Missouri; four grandchildren, Hannah Lopez, Zach Petersime, Taylor Stassek, and Amanda Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Colin, Brenna, and Baylor.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally Blessinger and Dorothy Pfau, and one brother, Leo Schwartzmiller.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, September 6, at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity.
