Jeremy D. “Jerry” Terwiske, 60, Ireland

Jeremy D. “Jerry” Terwiske, 60, of Ireland, died Sunday (August 26) at the family lake in Duff. He was born in Jasper June 17, 1958, to Robert Sr. and Catherine “Betts” (Steinhart) Terwiske. He married Kathleen “Kathy” Hassfurther August 8, 1981, at St. Celestine Catholic Church.

Jerry was a 1976 graduate of Jasper High School. He loved his lifelong business Bob’s Auto, gardening, watching his grandkids grow up, pheasant hunting with his brothers and sons, and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the Jasper Rifle and Gun Club, Moose Lodge, Ireland Sportsman’s Club, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy Terwiske;

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Kathy Terwiske; two sons, Kade Terwiske and wife Melissa and Klayton Terwiske and wife Mallory, all of Jasper, and Kyra Brown and husband Jake, Ireland; five grandchildren, Adalyn, Claire, and Tenley Terwiske, and Benjamin and Eli Terwiske; Baby Brown, expected in March; four sisters, Becky Matheis and husband Alan and Gina Scherle and husband Mike, all of Ireland, Marcia Johannigsmeier, Haubstadt, and Angie Hochgesang and husband Bill, Celestine; nine brothers, Stan Terwiske and wife Julie Oakland City, Rolly Terwiske and wife Kathleeen, Huntingburg, Dave Terwiske and wife Cindy, Haysville, Paul Terwiske, Jasper, Joel Terwiske, Velpen, and Bruce Terwiske and wife Kay, Robert Terwiske, Jr., Jay Terwiske and wife Ann, and George Terwiske and wife Kristi, all of Ireland; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John Terwise, and one brother-in-law, Bill Johanningsmeier.

Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Members of St. Mary’s Parish will pray a rosary at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Church Building Fund or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com.
