Brett David Yourgans, 52, Huntingburg

Brett David Yourgans, 52, of Huntingburg, died Monday, August 20, at his home. He was born March 15, 1966.

Brett was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School. He attended Vincennes University where he earned his pilot’s license. He began his career as a pilot at Huntingburg Airport. While living in Holland his last employment was as a corporate pilot and aviation department manager for Whayne Supply Company in Louisville. He enjoyed making and flying radio controlled airplanes, working on cars, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

He is survived by his parents, Roger and Lorraine Yourgans, Evansville; three sons, Ryan Buckley, Olney, Illinois, Nathniel Yourgans, Evansville, and Alex Yourgans, Huntingburg; four daughters, Brittney Vincent and husband Kenyon, Jasper, Deanna Yourgans, Huntingburg, Michaela Yourgans, Indianapolis, and Heather Yourgans, Evansville; five grandchildren, Gabriel, Cameryn, Jackson, Chloe, and Sophia; two sisters, Sabra Young and husband Bill, Evansville, and Holly Miller and husband Curt, Gibson City, Illinois; one uncle, David Yourgans and wife Linda, Evansville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Otto and Eleonora Moers, and his paternal grandparents, Fred and Wilma Yourgans.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Ryan Hilderbrand at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church.
