Lois Jean “Jeanne” Neukam, 88, Dubois

Lois Jean “Jeanne” Neukam, 88, of Dubois, died Tuesday (July 17) at Eskaton Care Center Greenhaven in Sacramento, California. She was born in Dubois June 25, 1930, to Ray and Lorena (Seger) Matheis.

Jeanne was a graduate of Dubois High School and Lockyear Business College in

Evansville. She was a secretary and bookkeeper at Jasper Lumber Company for many years and a member of St. Isadore Parish – St. Raphael’s Campus. She enjoyed watching basketball on television, playing cards with family and friends, and her dog “Muff”.

She is survived by two daughters, Shelley Fehribach and husband Eric, Jasper, and Holly Butler, Elk Grove, California; five grandchildren: Dylan Fehribach, Keila Butler, Leia Grand and husband Patrick, Slade Butler, and Tyia Colfescu; four great-grandchildren, Malia and Mason Tye and Henry and Violet Grand; one sister, Diane Craig, Jeffersonville; one nephew; and six nieces.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Harold Matheis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois with burial following in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation before the mass. A luncheon will be held immediately after the mass in the church basement for family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael’s Church.
