Lyle N. Schaus, 63, Jasper

Lyle N. Schaus, 63, of Jasper, died Thursday (August 9) at Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Spencer County August 5, 1955, to Warren A. and Wanda G. (Darden) Schaus. He married Brenda L. (Parker) Breitwieser October 15, 1994, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper.

Lyle was a logistics coordinator for Kimball International for 40 years and a member of the Jasper Optimist Club. He was his family’s leader and role model. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping others, collecting antiques, music, going to auctions, and spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Schaus; two daughters, Angie Altstadt and husband Alan, Evansville, and Nicki Breitwieser, Evansville; three granddaughters, Britnee and Kaitlin Altstadt and Molly Brothers; two brothers, Todd Schaus and wife Pam, Evansville, and Paul Schaus and wife Staci, Evanston; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to a favorite charity.
