Top News Stories NNDC for Tuesday

Dubois County (NNDC):

 Haysville:  A driver ran from the scene of a crash Sunday on Haysville Road just west of Haysville. Police say the driver went left of center and ran off of the roadway flipping the vehicle, then ran into the woods after officers arrived on scene.

Several police agencies and a K9 unit searched for the driver for over 2 hours but were unable to locate the driver.  Investigators believe a friend may have assisted him in leaving the area.

The suspect crossed the centerline and rolled over in a ditch and the driver apparently suffered head lacerations and apparently other non life threatening injuries.

The vehicle is a yellow Ford Ranger and the driver is from Daviess County but his name has not yet been release depending on charges being filed.  More information is to be forthcoming.


Jasper Police asked for public’s help.

The Jasper Police Department is asking for help to identify the individuals in the photos below who were allegedly involved in a high-value theft at the Jasper Walmart on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at about 11:30 p.m.

Anyone with information can contact the department at 812-482-2255 or on the anonymous tip line at 812-481-2677 (COPS).

An old Jasper favorite hangout is being brought back.

At least 2 maybe 3 generations experienced the fun, food and good times just hanging out at the Calumet in Jasper.  The newly remodeled facility is opening is from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Saturday.
