Jasper Police Asking for the Public’s Help

Jasper Police are asking the public’s help in identifying the driver and passenger of a white SUV involved in a hit and run:

ON FRIDAY, JULY 20, 2018, AT APPROX 0250 PM, IN FRONT OF HOLIDAY LIQUORS NORTH, 2905 N NEWTON ST., A WHITE SUV WITH TWO HISPANIC MALES IN

THE FRONT SEAT PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE. WHEN THE PASSENGER OPENED HIS DOOR, HE DENTED THE VEHICLE’S DOOR TO HIS RIGHT (NORTH). THE DRIVER THEN BACKED UP THE CAR, IN AN ATTEMPT TO FLEE THE SCENE. THE SUV’S DOOR WAS STILL LODGED IN THE TAN SEDAN’S DRIVER SIDE DOOR, CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE. THE PASSENGER CLOSES THE DOOR, AND THE WHITE SUV FLEES THE SCENE. ATTACHED ARE PICTURES FROM SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE. JPD IS REQUESTING ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING THE VEHICLE / PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS INCIDENT. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THEY ARE MID 30’S, HISPANIC MALES, THAT FREQUENT HOLIDAY LIQUORS NORTH.
