Elizabeth “Betty” Kieffner, 88, Jasper

Elizabeth “Betty” Kieffner, 88, of Jasper, died Sunday (July 15) at her home. She was born in Jasper August 17, 1929, to Bernard and Frances (Burke) Rees. She married Leo G. Kieffner September 27, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He died August 8, 2004.

Betty retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper where she worked as a certified nurse assistant (CNA)  for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and its St. Anne Society.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Kieffner and Sharon Rose Fulcher, both of Jasper, and Judith Kieffner, Ferdinand; five sons, Thomas Kieffner, Randall Kieffner and wife Tammy, and David Kieffner and wife Deb, all of Jasper, Steven Kieffner and wife Pina, Destin, Florida, and Bradley Kieffner and wife Sherri, Ferdinand;  12 grandchildren, Jessica (Fulcher) ( Eddie) Luegers, Jackie (Rajashekar) Kumaram, Jeremy Fulcher, Kara (Seth) Lanman, Danielle (Jake) Gish, Eric (Abigail) Kieffner, Gina Kieffner, Wyatt Kieffner, Morgan Crutchfield,  Wade Kieffner, Kristine Probst and Elizabeth Hansen; five great-grandchildren, Ellis, Jayla, Cole, Ella and Noah;  and one sister, Edna Mehringer, Jasper.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Clarence, and Claude Rees.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church. The St. Anne Society will lead a rosary at 9 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with entombment following in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
