Bombers Drop One on the Road, Returns to League Stadium on Monday

Huntingburg (NNDC) – A late night for Bombers baseball as they visited the Henderson Flash, in a game that was rain delayed.    Dubois County got off to a fast start before Henderson got hot and blasted the Bombers 14-6.

Dubois County jumped out to a 6-4 lead after 4 1/2 innings, however, the Flash plated three runs in the bottom half of the inning taking a 7-6 lead.   From there, Henderson never looked back and added two more in the 6th, one in the 7th and four more runs in the 8th to cruise to victory.   Henderson racked up 15 hits in the game while Dubois County collected 6 hits.   Tanner Craig and Nick Gonzales led the Bombers with 2 hits apiece in 4 at bats.

Evan Hall took the loss for Dubois County allowing 8 runs on 8 hits in his five innings of work.   Hall also struck out 2 Henderson batters.

The Bombers are now 24-14 on the season and with the loss, drop 1/2 game back of Owensboro in the OVL Eastern Division.   Dubois County travels to Fulton on Sunday night before returning to League Stadium on Monday night to face Paducah.   The Bombers will wrap up their home portion of the regular season on Tuesday evening as they host Muhlenberg County on fan appreciation night.   Dubois County will travel to league leading Owensboro on Wednesday to finish out the regular season.   The Ohio Valley League (OVL) playoffs will begin on Friday July 20th.
