Bombers Win Again!!! Host Families to be Honored

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers continued their winning ways on Thursday night at League Stadium with a 6-2 victory over the Henderson Flash.   The win improves the Bombers record to 17-12.

Henderson jumped out to the lead early with 2 runs crossing the plate in the second inning.   Dubois County responded with a 3 spot in the bottom of the third with the help of Tanner Craigs homerun.  The Bombers tacked on 2 more runs in the fourth inning and one more in the bottom of the eighth to close out the scoring.

Dubois County had nine hits in the game.   Evan Aders, Nick Gonzales and John McDonald led the Bombers with 2 hits apiece.   Koby Silvy picked up the win for Dubois County with his 5 inning effort , allowing only three hits, two runs and striking out four.   Jake Lewis earned the save for the Bombers as he recorded the last 6 outs.

With the win, Dubois County is 3 games behind league leading Owensboro and 1.5 games ahead of third place Henderson.   The Bombers return to action tonight with a double-header against Muhlenberg County.   Game one is a completion of a rain-suspended game and will go nine innings, while game two will follow with 7 innings.   First pitch is set for 5pm.

The host families will also be honored tonight, as well as former Bomber Sean Manaea who now pitches for the Oakland Athletics.
