Bombers Win Big on Independence Day

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers continued their winning ways on Wednesday in front of a huge Independence Day crowd at League Stadium.   The Bombers struck early and kept the pedal down as they routed Owensboro 13-2.   Dubois County plated two in the first, one in the second and tagged on three more runs in the third to take a 6-0 lead after just 3 innings.   Tanner Craig got Dubois County on the board in the bottom of the first with a double which scored 2 runs.   Owensboro did get on the board with one run in the fifth and another in the seventh.   The Bombers tacked on three more runs in the sixth and four in the eighth, including a homerun by Evan Kahre to round out the scoring.   Dubois County had 16 hits and committed 4 errors in the contest.   Ben Wilcoxson went 4-4 at the plate to lead the Bombers.

Jack Anderson picked up the victory on the hill for Dubois County.   Anderson went eight innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out 11.   With the win, Dubois County improves to 16-12 on the season and will be at home on Thursday night to face the Henderson Flash.   First pitch is set for 7pm.
