City Notice for Jasper as roads will be closed for resurfacing.

The Jasper Street Department will begin an asphalt pavement preservation project (Liquid Road) beginning Monday, July 9, 2018, barring inclement weather or any other unforeseen events.This surface coating is similar to seal coating, but is thicker, more durable and designed to last longer than ordinary seal coating.Motorists will not be allowed on these streets when Liquid Road is being applied nor while it is drying.Affected residents will be notified via a door hanger the day before the application begins.Residents are asked to please have all vehicles removed from garages, streets & driveways prior to 7:00 a.m. on the day the application is applied to your street and remain out until the street is re-opened, as vehicles will not be allowed on these streets during this process.Each street affected will be closed for approximately two days depending on weather and material drying conditions.The following streets will be affected, not necessarily in this order:

River Walk Concert:

Headquartered in Indianapolis, the 38th Infantry Division Band, the only military band in the State of Indiana will be performing at the Jasper Riverwalk Concert from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on July 5, 2018.The Band performs ceremonies, concerts, and parades in both military and civic capacities throughout the state and is one of the most requested units in the Indiana National Guard.The band is a versatile organization which performs a wide variety of music including marches, traditional, and patriotic selections, as well as jazz and popular musical styles. The Band has appeared with country artists such as Wynonna Judd and Josh Turner, halftime for the Indianapolis Colts, Indianapolis 500 Festivities and performances for political dignitaries at the state and national level.The 38th Infantry Division Band is comprised of several performing components including: Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, two Brass Quintets, Woodwind Quintet, Saxophone Quartet, Jazz Combo and Show Band. These music performance teams are in high demand.
