Bombers Split Double Header with Hoptown

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers split a twin bill with the Hoppers on Wednesday pushing their record to 11 wins and 10 losses on the season.   In game one,  Hoptown took a 1 run lead into the final inning before the Bombers scored 2 in the top of the 7th.    Tobe Whitten held the Hoppers scoreless in the bottom of the 7th giving Dubois County the win.   Whitten picked up the save and the Ryan Luckett was the winning pitcher.  Dubois County had 12 hits in the 6-5 win.

In game 2, Hoptown took a 1 run lead in the bottom of the first, followed up by 2 runs in the 2nd and never looked back, as the Hoppers win game two 4-3.  The Bombers racked up 6 hits in game two with Nick Gonzales going 3 for 4  and John McDonald picking up a pair of hits in the loss.   Jack Anderson took the loss for Dubois County after surrendering four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out six.

Dubois County returns home on Thursday night for another double header as the Fulton Railroaders visit League Stadium.   The Bombers will also play at home on Friday and Saturday night with the first pitch set for 7pm both nights.    Off the field entertainment for Friday night is The Balloon Guy and its Brews in the Bullpen Craft Beer Fest on Saturday.
