Dubois County (NNDC):

– Approval from the Jasper City Council this week moves the SERVUS construction project forward:

 

The rendering is by Curran Architecture out of Indianapolis with Universal provide a good interpretation of the finished project.

After the Jasper Common Council meeting approval, SERVUS’s plans to build a new headquarters on South Newton will likely move forward beginning in September.

Along with the new 6000 square foot corporate office, the new 40,000 square foot building will also feature a 4,000 square foot McCalister’s Deli on the first floor. The top two floors will feature high-end loft apartments. The loft-style apartments will feature upscale features such as large rooms, hardwood floors and other amenities, along with workout facilities and underground parking.

The building should be under construction around September and completed in about 10 to 12 months.

Phase 2 will include a 3 story building hosting office space, retail stores, and apartments.  The time schedule for phase 2 will depend on the completion of the first project.

–  Jasper firefighters responded to a semi-truck fire on Thursday.

The incident happened Near the Eastown Recreation Center on Crossroads Avenue just before 4 yesterday.

Traffic was stalled and JPD assised in the effort to keep motorists moving.

No word as of yet on the cause of the fire and no one was injured.

– Huntingburg is notifying residents that First Street between Main and Geiger streets is closed today as workers install a waterline. Officials ask that people use an alternate route and avoid the area.
