James L. “Jim” Barrow, 81, Jasper

James L. “Jim” Barrow, 81, of Jasper, died Wednesday (June 20) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, January 30, 1937, to Irvin and Beatrice (Hunter) Barrow. He married Sidney Ann Freudenberg January 22, 1978, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She died January 26, 2012.

Jim worked as a parts manager for several automotive parts stores. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper where he served as the council president in 2013 and sang in the choir. He was a member of Jasper Outdoor Recreation, where he served as a director, the Jasper Moose Lodge, American Legion Post No. 147, the Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, and B.A.S.S. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Freudenberg, Deerfield Beach, Florida; one son, James Freudenberg, Wellington, Florida; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Steven Freudenberg, one granddaughter, Nina Brumbaugh, two brothers, Tom and Irvin Barraow, Jr., and one sister, Juanita.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Church, the American Cancer Society, or to a favorite charity.
