Melissa K. “Missy” Woolsey, 56, Loogootee

Melissa K. “Missy” Woolsey, 56, of Loogootee, died Sunday (June 17) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper April 4, 1962, to Harmon and Joanne (Fromme) Woolsey.

Missy was a graduate of Jasper High School. She worked for the Nancy Ruth Habig Estate and was a caretaker for her mother for several years. She was  a past American Gladiator and was on the Gladiator tour where she was known as Missy “Maxi” Woolsey. She was a member of the Ladies of the Jasper Moose and enjoyed spending time with her dog, Angel, and taking care of her yard.

She is survived by her companion, Sharon Schmitt, Loogootee; five brothers, Michael K. Woolsey, Jasper, Mark K. Woolsey, Chicago, Marlon K. Woolsey and wife Rosemary, Jasper, Monty K. Woolsey and wife Lisa, Fishers, and Max K. Woolsey, her godchild,  and his wife Tammy, Fairhope, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Joanne Woolsey.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family to help with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial following at a later date.
