Fred J. Popp, 69, Portersville

Fred J. Popp, 69, of Portersville, died Friday (June 15) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born in Washington July 26, 1948, to Hilbert A. and Eldena L. (Harder) Popp. He married Charlotte Miller October 9, 1976, at St. Paul’s’ Lutheran Church in Haysville. 

Fred worked as a computer technician for Kimball International for many years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville where he served on the church council and the capital stewardship campaign. He enjoyed living in the country and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Popp; two sons, Chris Popp, Jasper, and Mark Popp and wife Krissy, Fredricksburg, Virginia; five grandchildren, Ben, Quade, Dawson, Nathan, and Leo Popp; and two brothers, Robert Popp and wife Myrna and James Popp and wife Linda, all of Jasper.. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Louanna Nuhring. 

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at St. Paul’s Church. Pastor Tim Holt will officiate.
