City of Jasper to Honor Iris Gutgsell

Jasper (NNDC) – An Executive Order signed Friday by Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz, calls for the lowering of the flag at Jasper’s City Hall Monday in honor of four-term Jasper City Clerk-Treasurer Iris Gutgsell, who died Thursday. The flag will be lowered to half-staff at sunrise Monday, the day of Gutgsell’s funeral.

Gutgsell, who also served as a Jasper Mayoral Secretary, was an active member of the Indiana League of Clerk-Treasurers, serving as a district director for many years, and was the recipient of the Key to the City of Jasper for her years of public service. She retired as clerk-treasurer on December 31, 1995.
