Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges in Huntingburg

Huntingburg (HPD) from releases Tuesday April 17th – This past Thursday at approximately 3:00PM, Huntingburg Narcotics Officer Drew conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Durango for exceeding the posted speed limit near 650 West 1st Street Huntingburg.  After making contact with the driver, Tara Fullington, and passenger, Zackary Wheatley.  Huntingburg K-9 Officer Byrd and his partner Ester were called to the scene to conduct an open air sniff around the Dodge Durango. K-9 Ester gave a positive indication for the odor of narcotics.  Police then searched the vehicle.  During the search Huntingburg Police found methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a schedule IV controlled substance, and several syringes.  Tara Fullington and Zackary Wheatley were both charged with numerous charges including possession of Methamphetamine, possession of Marijuana, possession of Paraphernalia possession of a Syringe and possession of a controlled Substance.  KARS wrecker service and Dubois County Sheriff’s Department assisted with this incident.
