Lucille F. Gehlhausen, 93, Ferdinand

Lucille F. Gehlhausen, 93, of Ferdinand, died Saturday (March 31) at her home. She was born in Ferdinand October 4, 1924, to Frank and Louise (Oser) Stetter. She married Merrill L. Gehlhausen May 16, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Lucille was employed at Best Chairs as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and its Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery.

She is survived by her husband, Merrill L. Gehlhausen; three sons, Fred Gehlhausen and wife Cindy, Huntingburg, Stan Gehlhausen and wife Cindy, Dale, and Mike Gehlhausen and wife Linda, St. Henry; two daughters, Suzi Jones and wife Harris, Beaufort, South Carolina, and Kathie Oser and husband Bob, Holland; one sister, Betty Bender, Huntingburg; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Stetter.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish vigil service, led by Deacon Tom Holsworth, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Ryan Hilderbrand.
