Restored Stained Glass Window returned to Saint Joseph Catholic Church (click on videos)

Jasper (NNDC) –

Conrad Schmitt Studios of New Berlin, Wisconsin were at Saint Joseph Catholic Church this morning,  and installed the restored stained glass window and prepared  for the next step in the restoration project. The ultimate project will include restoration of all stained glass windows in
Saint Joseph.

The history of the windows and special efforts to bring them back to their original beauty is engaging. The primary challenge has been locating exact matches to glass made more than 100 years ago.

The current windows are near 120 years old, 20 years past the general life expectancy of windows from the turn of the century. Funding for this project is from the Stewards of God’s Grace Campaign. The campaign was a joint effort of the Diocese of Evansville and Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

According to Fr. Ray Brenner present pastor at Saint Joesph Catholic Church the overall project with the other windows will take about 12 months to complete.
