Doris June Wibbeler, 87, Huntingburg

Doris June Wibbeler, 87, of Huntingburg, died Monday (March 19) at The Waters of Huntingburg. She was born in Oakland City July 25, 1930, to Harry and Sarah (Bowman) Holderbaugh. She married Wallace Wibbeler July 3, 1949, at the Holland Methodist parsonage. He died June 18, 2013.

Doris was a 1948 graduate of Oakland City High School. She was employed as a lab technician at Holland Dairy. She was employed as a lab technician at Holland Dairy for 27 ½ years. She was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church and Holland United Methodist Women and enjoyed following the church’s softball team. She also enjoyed playing bridge, canning produce from the garden, and spending time with all her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra Carmack and husband Alan, Evansville, and Jennifer Kern and husband Alan and Beth Carter and husband Earl, all of Huntingburg; one son, Jon Wibbeler and wife Betty, Holland; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Cleon Holderbaugh, and one sister, Lucille Arnold.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Holland United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to The Waters of Huntingburg Activity Room Fund or to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holland United Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Keith Chanley will officiate.
