Anna M. Bohnert, 88, Jasper

Anna M. Bohnert, 88, of Jasper, died Sunday (March 18) at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Schnellville August 10, 1929, to Benjamin and Margaret (Fritz) Rohlman. She married Paul Bohnert May 10, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. He died February 12, 2001.

Anna retired from Decora in Jasper. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Jasper D of I, and the St. Anne’s Society. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, playing bingo, and going to the boat with her family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha Hochgesang and husband Kerry, Jasper; one son, Michael Bohnert and wife Lynne, Jasper; daughter-in-law Pam Schneider and husband Greg, Jasper; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Bohnert, one grandson-in-law, Brian Hughes, one sister, Rosina Kraus, and three brothers, Bernard, Maurice, and Franklin Rohlman.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The Jasper D of I and the St. Anne’s Society will pray a rosary at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
